Week 2 Power Rankings (09-18-2024)

1.) Gandalf the Goat

Overall Record: 2-0
Divisional Record: 2-0
Total Points Scored: 219.54
Position Last Week: 2
Notes: Alvin Kamara dominated a tough defensive matchup scoring four touchdowns and amassing a 40 point fantasy game. The Goats are back on top and look to have one of the strongest lineups in the league.

2.) Game of Zones

Overall Record: 2-0
Divisional Record: 2-0
Total Points Scored: 179.42
Position Last Week: 1
Notes: Despite scoring the third fewest points of the week, sometimes all you need is a little luck and in this scenario it’s playing the team that scored the second fewest points of the week. Injuries to both AJ Brown and Tua this week will test this team’s bench depth.

3.) Doctor Jenious

Overall Record: 2-0
Divisional Record: 2-0
Total Points Scored: 177.42
Position Last Week: 8
Notes: Two weeks in and it’s looking like JK Dobbins was a league winner at running back. Combining him with Achane makes this tandem one of the best running back duos in the league so far.

4.) Cloud 9

Overall Record: 2-0
Divisional Record: 2-0
Total Points Scored: 170.2
Position Last Week: 3
Notes: It was another tough classic FFC North divisional game that came down to the last seconds of Monday Night Football but Cloud 9 pulled it off to take the division lead. Nico Collins has separated himself in Houston as the WR1 and someone whose draft stock is skyrocketing for 2025.

5.) Elk Grove Spartans

Overall Record: 2-0
Divisional Record: 2-0
Total Points Scored: 172.16
Position Last Week: 7
Notes: As the last undefeated team, the 2-0 Spartans will look to seize the division in an exciting showdown next week with Game of Zones. In a mostly positive game script, we saw the Derrick Henry we expected coming into this season with a steady diet of 18 carries.

6.) Pool of the Dead

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 183.08
Position Last Week: 10
Notes: The defending champ bounced back after a tough Week 1 loss and saw the official breakout of rookie WR Marvin Harrison who grabbed 130 yards and 2 touchdowns in the first quarter alone. Some more good news is it appears Joe Mixon’s injury is not long term.

7.) SLAM BALL 2K24

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 177.02
Position Last Week: 5
Notes: Last week I used this spot to thank everybody for Cooper Kupp falling to us in the third round. And next I would like to dominate dumbass Jinx of the year goes to…

8.) Isla Sorna Raptors

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 165.34
Position Last Week: 6
Notes: A tough Monday Night loss going down to the last interception was heartbreaking for the Raptors who appeared in good position to win the game. With all the receivers struggling this week, it appears this team will rely on QB and a nice RB duo in Gibbs and Conner going to carry the load.

9.) Mahomies Deezflated Nuts

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 153.86
Position Last Week: N/A
Notes: This was another Monday Night sweat, and the second of the season for MD Nuts who will probably need blood pressure medication after this season if this trend continues. At this point you have to wonder if Derek Carr will take over the starting QB role over Jared Goff.

10.) Uur UPS

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 142.02
Position Last Week: 16
Notes: Breece Hall and DK Metcalf bounced back after a slow Week 1 to flash their elite talent. The real story of the week was backup QB Sam Darnold overcoming a tough matchup to finish top 10 for the week and proves he may be a suitable replacement for Jordan Love in the interim.

11.) Da Moon’s Huge Craters

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 137.18
Position Last Week: 4
Notes: Maybe I am quick to give up on a player but it appears Caleb Williams is not ready to be start-able in fantasy football. However, fellow rookie teammate Malik Nabers has seen an incredible target rate and has shown he will be a heavy contributor as a rookie.

12.) Philippines Garbage Dumps

Overall Record: 0-2
Divisional Record: 0-2
Total Points Scored: 150.64
Position Last Week: 11
Notes: PGD made news off the field this week completing a massive blockbuster trade to acquire Christian McCaffrey whose injury timeline was extended the following day. The injury to Isiah Pacheco makes this running back room extremely thin and they will need to ride the storm until their injured players return.

13.) Moore on the Run

Overall Record: 0-2
Divisional Record: 0-2
Total Points Scored: 129.82
Position Last Week: 13
Notes: Baker Mayfield may not be riding the bench anymore after showing he is still that guy from 2023. This team will need the wide receivers to pick up the slack, namely Brandon Aiyuk and Jaylen Waddle.

14.) Bruce Almightys

Overall Record: 0-2
Divisional Record: 0-2
Total Points Scored: 117.34
Position Last Week: 15
Notes: Representing the other team in the CMC trade, Bruce lands two potential top 10 RBs in David Montgomery and Kyren Williams who are heavily featured in workhorse roles in their respective offenses. Another player soaring under the radar is JSN who has emerged as the second receiver in the Seattle offense.

15.) Sacramento Wolf Pack

Overall Record: 0-2
Divisional Record: 0-2
Total Points Scored: 109.44
Position Last Week: 12
Notes: As stated last week, Anthony Richardson’s accuracy issues have begun to rear its ugly head as he threw three interceptions in Sunday’s loss. The only bright spot of Indy’s offense was Jonathan Taylor who managed 13.50 fantasy points on just 12 carries and two receptions.

16.) Jedi Knights

Overall Record: 0-2
Divisional Record: 0-2
Total Points Scored: 103.08
Position Last Week: 14
Notes: The Jedi Knights are due for some massive regression as they have had two slow weeks from all of their star players. Sam LaPorta, Ja’Marr Chase and Patrick Mahomes have all underperformed this season and are due for a spike game soon.
