Week 8 Power Rankings (11-02-2023)

1.) Pool of the Dead

Overall Record: 6-2
Divisional Record: 4-0
Total Points Scored: 713.1
Position Last Week: 1
Notes: It was a good showing for the Pool but the schedule losses are catching up. There is no doubt about this team going forward with their consistent offensive production, but now they are in a fight for the 1 seed and have two red hot teams on their tail in the division.

2.) No Diggity…about to bag it up

Overall Record: 6-2
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 673.7
Position Last Week: 5
Notes: The biggest winner of the week was No Diggity as they finally overtake MD Nuts for the division lead. It’s safe to say that Joe Burrow is officially back and we can count on elite QB1 production going forward.

3.) Da Moon’s Huge Craters

Overall Record: 5-3
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 591.8
Position Last Week: 3
Notes: The biggest blow of the week, injury wise, was to the Craters as they lost their starting QB Kirk Cousins. The Craters will scramble to replace that production as Cousins ends his 2022 season as QB6.

4.) Sacramento Wolf Pack

Overall Record: 4-4
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 546.3
Position Last Week: 4
Notes: The Wolf Pack hold pat in a weak division race with their 4-4 record still being a full game lead. With no trade partners for Derrick Henry in the NFL we can rely on him being the RB1 in a similar role all season long.

5.) Mahomies Deezflated Nuts

Overall Record: 5-3
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 673.3
Position Last Week: 2
Notes: It was a Monday night battle for MD Nuts who lost by a few points in the Jared Goff vs Josh Jacobs battle. As the Nuts try to rebound next week, they will now be playing from a unique position all season long: chasing the new division leader.

6.) Gandalf the Goat

Overall Record: 5-3
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 660.8
Position Last Week: 6
Notes: This team remains consistently under the radar as a fringe wildcard team who will be positioned for another deep playoff run. Even without a strong Mahomes game, the team was carried by strong games from Ceedee Lamb and Breece Hall as this roster shapes up.

7.) Jedi Knights

Overall Record: 5-3
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 654.8
Position Last Week: 7
Notes: The hottest team in the league, the Jedi Knights, have now won four in a row and look like a legitimate contender. Starting Rashid Shaheed was a gutsy call as he finished for 3 catches for 153 yards and a touchdown.

8.) Doctor Jenious

Overall Record: 4-4
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 621.7
Position Last Week: 11
Notes: Watch out for another hot team surging upwards as the Jenious is on the heels of the Craters and right on the playoff bubble. Jahmyr Gibbs finally breaks out in 2023 and showed his true bellcow potential with 26 carries.

9.) Isla Sorna Raptors

Overall Record: 4-4
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 655.3
Position Last Week: 12
Notes: The big three of Hurts, McCaffrey and Etienne is about as elite as it gets in fantasy football. Their consistent elite production has dominated all season long and is putting this team into contender status.

10.) Bruce Almightys

Overall Record: 3-5
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 621
Position Last Week: 8
Notes: Similar to the struggles of Davante Adams, Bruce has seen his season slide the wrong way after a 2-2 start. They will need to rebound and trading for Aaron Jones may be the help they need.

11.) Korriban Warriors

Overall Record: 3-5
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 600.7
Position Last Week: 13
Notes: The Warriors look like the odd man out in a tough FFC North race which could see potentially three playoff teams. They shook things up trading for Mostert to get some help at the RB2 position.

12.) Philippines Garbage Dumps

Overall Record: 3-5
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 594.1
Position Last Week: 10
Notes: The door is wide open in the FFC West and whoever wants it can take the division at any moment. The problem is it seems like nobody wants it and the PGD have slid down to 3-5 after a strong 2-2 start and looking like the best team in the West.

13.) Lin Sanity

Overall Record: 3-5
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 588.4
Position Last Week: 9
Notes: The defending champion has his own problems as injury woes and tough schedule losses continue to plague the season. The good news is they are only one game out of the lead just like everyone else.

14.) Elk Grove Spartans

Overall Record: 3-5
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 567.4
Position Last Week: 14
Notes: The Spartans won on a close Monday night battle as Josh Jacobs delivered his third rushing touchdown of the season and another decent game. The real key transaction in the last two weeks was picking up Dalton Kincaid who has seen an expanded role with the injury of Dawson Knox.

15.) Uur UPS

Overall Record: 3-5
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 564
Position Last Week: 15
Notes: Welcome to your new squad DeAndre Hopkins! Hopkins led the week with 128 receiving yards, three touchdowns and an impeccable chemistry with rookie QB Will Levis.

16.) SLAM BALL 2K23

Overall Record: 3-5
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 583.1
Position Last Week: 16
Notes: How about those Sacramento Kings?
