Week 12 Power Rankings (11-30-2022) + Some Playoff Clinching Scenarios

Before we jump into the power rankings for this week, I just wanted to go over some of the playoff clinching scenarios. Any team with four or less wins is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Any five win teams have a very slim margin (<10%) chance and will need multiple losses from the current wildcard seeds. All six win teams are in the mix for a wildcard spot but eliminated from winning their division (Bruce is 0-2 in the tiebreaker against Dr. Jenious and the Raptors/Wolfpack can not catch their division leaders).

Okay now for the obvious: Congratulations to Lin Sanity and Pool of the Dead for clinching their divisions and being guaranteed a top 4 playoff spot. In Week 13 Dr. Jenious will play against Da Moon’s Huge Craters. A win for the Jenious will clinch the FFC South division. A win for the Craters will put Da Moon back in the division lead as they would own the head to head tiebreaker (2-0) since they won their first matchup back in Week 2. In the East, a win for HIKYM + a loss by the Goat would clinch the division for HIKYM. If both teams are tied after Week 13, the Goat currently owns the tiebreaker (1-0 in head to head) but they are slated to play against each other in Week 14. Basically the Goat will need to go 2-0 to win the division in the final two weeks. HIKYM has a few more outs in Week 13 or just by winning outright they will win the division.

Now the three wildcard spots are difficult to assess given all of the different outcomes and possibilities that exist with teams moving up and down the power rankings after Week 13. The Craters and the Goats have the most outs with the possibility of still winning their division. The Spartans can only win a wildcard spot but their final two matches are against the PGD and the Wolfpack, two of the teams trying to catch and overtake them so they have the ability to directly eliminate their own competition. All three 7-win teams also have strong divisional records (3-1 each) which will work in their favor in 3+ team tiebreakers and most tiebreakers at that point will go to points at which the Goat currently leads the other wildcard teams by nearly 140 points, a nearly impossible margin to close in two weeks. Good luck to all teams in Week 13 and without further ado, here are the power rankings.

1.) Lin Sanity

Overall Record: 10-2
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 1167.3
Position Last Week: 2
Notes: With a three game lead, Lin Sanity have clinched the FFC West divisional race and have their sights set on the coveted bye week for the playoffs. With all key players coming back from bye weeks, it’s all systems go for a championship run.

2.) Pool of the Dead

Overall Record: 9-3
Divisional Record: 4-0
Total Points Scored: 997.2
Position Last Week: 1
Notes: With the emergence of DeAndre Hopkins since his return in Week 7, this team looks a lot stronger than just a few weeks ago. The receiver group of Hopkins, Higgins and St. Brown rounds out a strong roster who look to get the Pool of the Dead their first championship.

3.) Doctor Jenious

Overall Record: 8-4
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 980.1
Position Last Week: 3
Notes: Jalen Hurts pulled off some late Sunday night heroics to mount a comeback victory to edge out the #1 seed. This win was great for two reasons: keeps the one game lead in the division race and gets the head to head tiebreaker over the current #2 seed.

4.) How I Kmet Your Mother

Overall Record: 8-4
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 1001.7
Position Last Week: 4
Notes: They don’t all have to look pretty but a win is a win. For this team, the key going forward into the playoffs is going to be managing the running back rotation and playing the matchups of which this team has done an excellent job in the season so far.

5.) Gandalf the Goat

Overall Record: 7-5
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 1091.3
Position Last Week: 7
Notes: Nothing like a good 148 point week to jump up two spots in the power rankings as the Goat returns to strong form from earlier this season. Now is the time to get hot and gain some momentum and this could be the start of the historic three-peat.

6.) Elk Grove Spartans

Overall Record: 7-5
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 928.2
Position Last Week: 5
Notes: There’s not really much you can do when you run into a 148 point buzz saw, but the Spartans stay in the wildcard hunt. With two divisional games against the PGD and the Wolfpack, the Spartans could cement their playoff berth as well as eliminate their divisional foes.

7.) Da Moon’s Huge Craters

Overall Record: 7-5
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 951.5
Position Last Week: 8
Notes: Michael Pittman with the Monday night miracle and a late 4th quarter touchdown secured a must win game for the Craters to stay in the mix for both the division and wildcard pictures. The week 13 matchup against the Jenious could be the game to secure the division.

8.) Sacramento Wolf Pack

Overall Record: 6-5-1
Divisional Record: 1-2-1
Total Points Scored: 851.3
Position Last Week: 6
Notes: It was a tough day at the office for the Wolf Pack as the receivers failed to get anything going again. With Justin Fields poised to return next week from injury, the Wolf Pack find themselves just one game out of a wildcard spot.

9.) Isla Sorna Raptors

Overall Record: 6-6
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 932.1
Position Last Week: 10
Notes: The Raptors stave off playoff elimination and are now one game back of a wildcard spot. Needless to say they will need a lot of help but the Raptors goal will be to go 2-0 over the final two weeks of the regular season.

10.) Bruce Almightys

Overall Record: 6-6
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 872.8
Position Last Week: 9
Notes: Bruce lost some ground in the division race and remains one game out of a wildcard spot. While it will be tough a 1-3 divisional record, we have seen this team gain momentum late to make late playoff pushes before.

11.) Philippines Garbage Dumps

Overall Record: 5-6-1
Divisional Record: 0-3-1
Total Points Scored: 909.4
Position Last Week: 11
Notes: The PGD have been eliminated from the FFC West race. This team has the slimmest of margins and will require a lot of help to gain one of the three wildcard spots.

12.) Mahomies’ Deezflated Nuts

Overall Record: 4-8
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 744
Position Last Week: 12
Notes: Mahomies Deezflated Nuts have been eliminated from the 2022 playoffs.

13.) SLAM BALL 2K22

Overall Record: 4-8
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 858.2
Position Last Week: 13
Notes: SLAM BALL has been eliminated from the 2022 playoffs.

14.) Jedi Knights

Overall Record: 3-9
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 817.4
Position Last Week: 14
Notes: The Jedi Knights have been eliminated from the 2022 playoffs.

15.) Korriban Warriors

Overall Record: 3-9
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 738.7
Position Last Week: 15
Notes: The Korriban Warriors have been eliminated from the 2022 playoffs.

16.) Uur UPS

Overall Record: 2-10
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 783.2
Position Last Week: 16
Notes: Uur UPS have been eliminated from the 2022 playoffs.
