First of all congratulations to all the playoff contenders. It was another great year of fantasy football where we saw a lot of teams playoff hopes shine through or come crashing down in the last week of football.I’m going to go through my 2021 Playoff Road map of who I think will win each matchup for this week all the way up to who becomes the BFFL 2021 Superbowl Champion.Week 15 (First week of playoffs)Congratulations Chet on winning the coveted first week bye, I will write more on your team below for Week 16.
#5 Korriban Warriors vs #4 Elk Grove Spartans
This matchup brings two teams extremely familiar with BFFL Playoffs.
#4 Elk Grove Spartans
The Spartans had a late season push to astonishingly win the tightly contested FFC West. Aaron Rodgers has been a staple this season as many others in driving teams into the playoffs. For me the surprise of James Connor being the #4 ranked running back has helped keep this teams hopes alive. While he does have a questionable designation as I write this, I think he could be a key factor in to the hopes of the Spartans chances of continuing their playoff run. Where I feel this team is drastically lacking is the WR position. Dionte Johnson is the only bright spot I see in the receiver positions and I think this team will need a lot of help.
#5 Korriban Warriors
In my opinion this is the best team on paper going into the playoffs. Russell Wilson is a dangerous QB and is going to be trying to make a playoff run for the Seahawks during this time as well. Jonathon Taylor is easily the best RB in football following Henry’s injury. The cherry on the cake….Cooper Kupp, easily the best WR this year as well. The Warriors even have the #1 Defense this year as well. This team is stacked with potential.
Position Battles
QB- This is a close one to me, but I don’t think I could ever vote against Aaron Rodgers in fantasy playoffs and I give this advantage to the Spartans.
RB- Even with how good James Connor has been playing, Jonathan Taylor is just on a whole different level and the Colts will get him the ball every chance they can. Additionally, the Warriors have Javonte Williams compared to D’Onta Foreman. I give this advantage to the Warriors.
WR- I don’t think this one is even close unfortunately, the Warriors win this position by a landslide.
D/ST- I lean towards the Spartans in this matchup, NE has a tough test against the Colts this week in Indy while GB goes against Baltimore with potentially no Lamar Jackson.
Kicker- Neither kicker really stands out to me, and am going to call this one a wash.
Prediction: I don’t think this is going to be a close game unfortunately as I think the Warriors are a powerhouse. Korriban Warriors take this one 106.3 to 89.4
#6 Jedi Knights vs. #3 Gandalf The Goat
Congratulations to the Knights on their first playoff appearance on their first year. They will face a tough matchup going against last years Champ.
#6 Jedi Knights
Joe Burrow really took a jump after his injury last year and has really utilized his college teammate to his advantage. Fournette and Jones have been solid running backs this year and I think this team will rely heavily on them in this weeks matchup. Where I think this team struggles will be it’s receivers. Devonta Smith has had a very “Boom or Bust” season and reminds me a lot of Desean Jackson’s scoring line when he was with the Eagles. Kittle back and healthy is an absolute game changer and I think could be the game changer to keep this team alive in the playoffs.
#3 Gandalf The Goat
This GM constantly builds strong teams and I don’t think this year is much different. Josh Allen continues to take steps forward and has had a tremendous year. Montgomery has not had as consistent of a year as he did last year and I think that could be partially because of rookie Justin Fields. I think this team also slightly struggles in the receiver category. Chase is a big playmaker and I think is solid, but Crowder is in a poor offensive scheme and I think Gronk is TD dependent.
Position Battles
QB: Josh Allen is the clear favored in this matchup in my opinion. Advantage Goats.
RB: Fournette and Jones are leaps and bounds above Montgomery and Hilliard. Advantage Jedi.
WR: I think this will be the deciding factor in this matchup. Kittle gets a good matchup and should have a lot of opportunities against Atlanta. On the other side, any score by Chase is slightly mitigated since Jedi has the starting QB. I think I give a small favor to the Knights on this one.
D/ST – I think Dallas’ defense will feast on the Giants in this one. Advantage Goats
K-Can’t bet against the GOAT of Kickers with Justin Tucker and I give the advantage to the Goats here as well.
Prediction – I think this is going to be an extremely close matchup that the Goat’s just edge out. Goats 86.4 – Jedi 83.1
#7 Lin Sanity vs #2 Pool of the Dead
Marvin just squeaks into the playoffs and somehow a team destroyed by injuries has been thriving.
#8 Lin Sanity
This team has played a little bit of the QB carrousel all year long and I think that can be really dangerous going into the playoffs (I speak first hand, both winning and losing because of it lol). Both QBs have tough matchup’s this week and it will be interesting to see if there are any last minute changes in this one. Having to play the carrousel with RB’s from the same team is even worse though. Harris and Stevenson have both had great outings but it’s a little bit of a gamble of who to play when both have been receiving touches. I still think this team has a stellar receiver core even with a few changes being made.
#2 Pool of the Dead
With the injuries you have faced, I give you major props for still pulling the #2 seed. Tom Brady has continued to defy age and is the #1 QB in our league. Jacobs has had some boom or bust games lately but I think has a good matchup going against a COVID riddled Cleveland defense, we may all want to keep our eyes on this game as Sunday approaches as well. Jefferson has been as good as it gets, but I am a little worried that you are starting both AJ Green and Ertz from Arizona, the news of Hopkins season ending does help, but I never like having 2 receivers from the same team.
Position Battles
QB – Old man Brady vs. his replacement, I give this one to Brady and the advantage goes to The Pool.
RB – I don’t particularly like either of these two teams RBS and think they are clear week points. Michel will be dependent on Henderson being hurt while starting a Jet RB is never a fun thought. I’m going to give the slight edge to The Pool on this one because of Henderson being questionable still, if Henderson plays though I give it to Lin Sanity
WR – I think Lin Sanity has the better overall trio in this matchup, playing both AJ Green and Ertz is a very scary thought to me. Advantage Lin Sanity
D/ST – Arizona plays Detroit….that is all I have to say. Advantage The Pool.
K – #1 Kicker Folk against #4 Bass, I think I have to give this one to Folk. Advantage The Pool.
Prediction – I think this is going to be a very close game as well but I see Roberto squeezing this one out. For how well he has managed his team with all the injuries he has faced and continues to face I think he has luck on his side lol. The Pool 79.8 – Lin Sanity 72.9
Week 16 Predictions (Semi-Finals)
Based on my predictions for Week 15 these would be the following games and my predictions for them.
#5 Korriban Warriors vs #1 Da Moon’s Huge Craters
#1 Da Moon’s Huge Craters
This is the only team I’m going to write a summary for in this week because I already listed my thoughts on the others above. This team has the most “humble” winner of the South. However, he says “it would be a disappointment if I didn’t win it all this year.” I think Chet has a fantastic team don’t get me wrong. But, I think he is going to run into the only team that can stop him in his first week of playoffs. Stafford has had a couple struggles prior to his bye and could be a little shaky. I think now that he finally decided to stick with Mitchell instead of Barkley his team looks better. His WR’s can have some sketchy games since they have so many other mouths to feed on each team (TB specifically). But, there is a reason his team is #1 and you can’t completely write him off.
Position Battles
QB – Russel Wilson will have Chicago while Stafford will go against Minnesota, Skol Vikings Chet? I think Wilson has the better matchup and give this advantage to the Warriors
RB- Jonathan Taylor is hard to bet against, I think Warriors have a slight advantage in this category as well
Receivers – Kupp and Lamb vs Lockett and Godwin is a great matchup, it’s also worth noting that any scores by Kupp and Lockett are going to likely be offset slightly to the other team’s QB, I give the Warriors this advantage as well
D/ST – TB against Carolina I think is a better matchup than NE against Buffalo, I give this advantage to Da Moon
Kicker – Carlson has been pretty much automatic, I give this to Da Moon as well.
Prediction – I think Chet runs into his fiercest competitor this week and I think this is the matchup of the year. I give the slight edge to the Warriors in this one and it’s going to be a shootout. Warriors 110.5 – Da Moon 101.8.
#3 The Goats vs. # 2 The Pool
Position Battles
QB- I’m going to have to give this to The GOAT, and not the Goats, Tom Brady continues to dominate, advantage The Pool
RB – I think both teams are weak at RB and we might see some switching around and possibly make free agent moves after the first week. I give this one to the Goats
WR – This one boils down to Chase vs. Jefferson to me and I think I like Jefferson over Chase. Advantage The Pool
D/ST – Dallas gets Washington, who they just put 22 points against in Washington, I give this advantage to the Goats
Kicker – I can’t bet against Tucker even though Folk is #1 this year, advantage GoatsI think this is an amazing matchup for the Semifinals and I think the Goat makes a return to the playoffs as both the underdogs move on to the Finals. Goats 86.8 – Pool 84.2
Week 17 Predictions (Superbowl)
Like I said, I think the warriors have the strongest team on paper. I think Casey’s team wins the QB battle and they have the stronger Kicker, but I think the fact that Stan currently has the #1 WR, #1 RB, and the #1 Defense is a slam dunk. I think Stan get’s his first Superbowl championship with this stacked roster. Final score 105.7 to 98.3
