1.) Da Moon’s Huge Craters
Overall Record: 3-0
Divisional Record: 3-0
Total Points Scored: 306.8
Position Last Week: 2
Notes: Saquon Barkley’s arrival back into elite fantasy running back will be tested with difficult matchups throughout the season but it was encouraging to see him do well in a good matchup. After outdueling the high powered Buccaneers offense, Matthew Stafford is officially on the early season MVP radar.
2.) Sacramento Wolf Pack
Overall Record: 3-0
Divisional Record: 3-0
Total Points Scored: 260.2
Position Last Week: 3
Notes: Ezekiel Elliott finally broke out in 2021 with a multi-touchdown game and showing flashes of the old Zeke prior to 2020. This team will ultimately go as far as Jalen Hurts’ development as a dual threat quarterback.
3.) Korriban Warriors
Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 284.2
Position Last Week: 1
Notes: The Warriors suffered their first loss of the season in a close Week 3 divisional matchup. With both running backs failing to eclipse double digits, Jonathan Taylor will need to start finding the endzone before other teams catch up to this squad.
4.) Gandalf the Goat
Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 254.7
Position Last Week: 9
Notes: The defending champion is really starting to showcase some of that incredible draft track record. I bet every single GM would want this one back: Ja’Marr Chase, who fell to the 7th round because of pre-season drop issues, is the 4th ranked receiver in fantasy with 4 touchdowns over the first three weeks.
5.) Pool of the Dead
Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 337.0
Position Last Week: 5
Notes: The pre-season favorite Pool of the Dead is the leading scorer after three weeks. With MVP candidate Tom Brady looking to break multiple pass records and King Henry’s dominance as the #1 ranked running back on the season, who can stop this powerhouse squad?
6.) Hot Pocket Hot Locket
Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 243.7
Position Last Week: 13
Notes: Justin Herbert and Davante Adams returned back to 2020 form after struggling the first two weeks launching this team to an incredible come from behind victory late on Sunday night football. With the Steelers receiving corps suffering multiple injuries, look for Chase Claypool to have some career weeks coming up in the next few weeks.
7.) Lin Sanity
Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 234.3
Position Last Week: 12
Notes: Why do you spend an 8th round draft pick on a strict backup running back who has no value without an injury? Alexander Mattison is one of the highest upside backup running backs and weeks like this showcase the value of an elite handcuff running back who can step in and give top ten RB production on the week.
8.) Bruce Almightys
Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 263.0
Position Last Week: 6
Notes: Justin Fields is the QB of the future and may be usable in playoff weeks this season, but he was not ready for action on Sunday as Bruce drops a close game. The bright spots are Cooper Kupp who blasted off last week has not returned to orbit yet and Zack Moss looks like he will be taking over the Buffalo backfield shortly.
9.) Ernie’s Rubber Duckies
Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 256.0
Position Last Week: 7
Notes: Despite fumbling again, the Chief showed no intention of feeding Clyde Edwards-Helaire and this performance was actually reassuring of his value as a high end RB2 but he will need to score more touchdowns. I’m not worried about Kyler Murray’s atypical low performance game as he will be challenging for QB1 all season long.
10.) Mahomies Deezflated Nuts
Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 253.0
Position Last Week: 4
Notes: There was really nothing bad about this performance, but the MD Nuts just fell a little short in a critical divisional matchup. Alvin Kamara is never somebody you can bet on to have two bad games in a row.
11.) SLAM BALL 2K21
Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 247.0
Position Last Week: 10
Notes: I am running out of appliances to throw out of windows this season.
12.) Uur UPS
Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 239.2
Position Last Week: 8
Notes: This is another example of nothing really bad about the performance, but just a bad week in matchups. The craziest stat I saw this week is Najee Harris caught 14 balls on 19 targets…he’s a running back, people.
13.) Elk Grove Spartans
Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 217.9
Position Last Week: 11
Notes: Weeks like this remind you of how much luck and injuries factor into fantasy football. Investing a huge amount of draft capital in the best player in fantasy football to lose him for multiple weeks to a hamstring injury will be tough, but the Spartans can fire up Chuba Hubbard as a replacement value to recoup some of their losses.
14.) Dr. Jenious
Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 215.0
Position Last Week: 14
Notes: The doctor made news last week shipping off rookies Devonta Smith and Kyle Pitts to acquire volume monster Darren Waller and Christian Kirk who has looked much better in this version of Arizona’s offense. It says a lot about Mahomes when you’re worried that your all pro QB is not averaging 30+ fantasy points a week.
15.) Jedi Knights
Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 212.6
Position Last Week: 15
Notes: The newcomer got his first victory on the season in major upset fashion taking down the #1 seed with strong games from second year QB Joe Burrow and Aaron Jones. The Jedi Knights were the recipient of the aforementioned Dr. Jenious team and will turn to youth and upside in unleashing Pitts and Smith this season.
16.) Philippines Garbage Dumps
Overall Record: 0-3
Divisional Record: 0-3
Total Points Scored: 161.1
Position Last Week: 16
Notes: The PGD may be the bad luck injury team of 2021: there’s always one every season and things are starting to fall apart with absences from Dalvin Cook and Tee Higgins this week. All of these injuries and turmoil begs the question: can Josh Gordon save the season? Flash ah-ah!
