Week 2 Power Rankings (09-22-2021)

1.) Korriban Warriors

Overall Record: 2-0
Divisional Record: 2-0
Total Points Scored: 216
Position Last Week: 1
Notes: The Warriors backed up an impressive Week 1 victory with another tough divisional win and high point performance. Adam Thielen’s fantasy regression has been greatly exaggerated and it’s proven his high touchdown rate is sustainable so far this season.

2.) Da Moon’s Huge Craters

Overall Record: 2-0
Divisional Record: 2-0
Total Points Scored: 210
Position Last Week: 2
Notes: With two weeks in the books, it’s clear the Craters are a legit contender this season. Chris Godwin and Tyler Lockett look to be primed for career seasons and with Saquon Barkley’s schedule softening up we can really see the ceiling for this team soon.

3.) Sacramento Wolf Pack

Overall Record: 2-0
Divisional Record: 2-0
Total Points Scored: 163
Position Last Week: 7
Notes: The most encouraging stat for this team was that Courtland Sutton led all receivers in the NFL with 254 targeted air yards. It’s clear Sutton is back and can push WR1 territory as he builds chemistry with Bridgewater.

4.) Mahomies’ Deezflated Nuts

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 169.7
Position Last Week: 3
Notes: It was a tough week at the office for the division leader MD Nuts who now see themselves locked in a four way tie for the division lead. One stat line that jumped out at me was Michael Pittman with 123 receiving yards on 12 targets.

5.) Pool of the Dead

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 231.1
Position Last Week: 9
Notes: Two weeks in and the Pool of the Dead lead the league in points scored and looks to be like a juggernaut contender. Week 2 was all about Derrick Henry’s monster 41.7 fantasy point game which becomes too much for most teams to overcome.

6.) Bruce Almightys

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 203.2
Position Last Week: 10
Notes: I felt really good about this team last week and this is the kind of performance I was envisioning when I wrote that. Cooper Kupp’s Week 1 was no fluke and it’s clear that he is primed for blast off and a career year.

7.) Ernie’s Rubber Duckies

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 186.2
Position Last Week: 5
Notes: I think a lot of GMs, myself included, are going to regret passing up Kyler Murray in the draft. The injury to Diontae Johnson has opened the door for Juju Smith-Schuster to an elevated role in this passing attack.

8.) Uur UPS

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 163.9
Position Last Week: 6
Notes: This is another team, who in a loss, I’m not really worried about when I look at how talented the roster is from top to bottom including a strong bench. The arrival of Justin Fields is going to elevate the entire Chicago offense and I think Darnell Mooney is going to play his way into the starting line up over the next couple of weeks.

9.) Gandalf the Goat

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 151.4
Position Last Week: 8
Notes: Ok now I’m going to sound like a broken record but again I’m not overreacting to a loss because this team is built incredibly and there are some studs on the bench who could start on other teams. Rondale Moore looks to be one of the best free agent pickups so far after a breakout Week 2 performance.

10.) SLAM BALL 2K21

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 150.8
Position Last Week: 15
Notes: Mike Williams breakout game was encouraging for SLAM BALL who squeaked out a close win against the defending champion.

11.) Elk Grove Spartans

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 150.7
Position Last Week: 14
Notes: If you’re not starting to realize how much of a cheat code a fully healthy and activated Christian McCaffrey is in fantasy football, I suggest you look at his box scores. The Spartans will have to mitigate the loss of Diontae Johnson for an indeterminate amount of time with an undisclosed knee injury.

12.) Lin Sanity

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 149.6
Position Last Week: 4
Notes: James White may continue to be one of the most underrated assets in fantasy football year in and year out. I’m not too worried about Hill and Metcalf with a bad Week 2 performance as they will both regress to the mean.

13.) Hot Pocket Hot Locket

Overall Record: 1-1
Divisional Record: 1-1
Total Points Scored: 145.9
Position Last Week: 16
Notes: It was a good win over the division leader in Week 2 to tie up the record. One of the biggest question marks going forward is the efficiency of Mike Davis: the usage has been what we expected (7 catches in Week 2) but the productivity leaves a lot to be desired.

14.) Dr. Jenious

Overall Record: 0-2
Divisional Record: 0-2
Total Points Scored: 141.6
Position Last Week: 12
Notes: James Robinson’s first two weeks have been forgettable with Carlos Hyde eating up a large volume of touches in Week 1 but the balance shifted more to Robinson in Week 2 (with not much better results). I expect to see Michael Carter get more integrated into the Jets gameplan as the season goes on and he will be startable in fantasy.

15.) Jedi Knights

Overall Record: 0-2
Divisional Record: 0-2
Total Points Scored: 139.5
Position Last Week: 11
Notes: Aaron Jones accounted for over 50% of the entire points scored in Week 2 for this squad, but there was nothing else positive to build upon. Darren Waller and AJ Brown are going to have to pick up the slack to anchor this team and get their first victory on the season.

16.) Philippines Garbage Dumps

Overall Record: 0-2
Divisional Record: 0-2
Total Points Scored: 112
Position Last Week: 13
Notes: It was nothing short of a disaster Week 2 for the PGD who will look to retool and bounce back in Week 2. As the PGD have made it known that Dalvin Cook is available for trade, will we see a blockbuster trade in the near future?
