Week 5 Power Rankings (10-09-2019)

1.) Mahomies Deezflated Nuts

Overall Record: 5-0
Divisional Record: 4-0
Total Points Scored: 455.5
Position Last Week: 1
Notes: The reigning champion escapes disaster with a Baker Mayfield meltdown that led to the pivotal win over Pool of the Dead, which may have important playoff seeding implications down the line given both teams are in the top 4.

2.) Sacramento Wolfpack

Overall Record: 4-1
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 475.5
Position Last Week: 2
Notes: Wolfpack is back causing mass destruction. After a couple of slow weeks, Brady returned to form against a helpless Washington defense and Dalvin Cook continues to play like a fantasy MVP candidate.

3.) Pool of the Dead

Overall Record: 3-2
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 322.2
Position Last Week: 2
Notes: It may be time to consider switching quarterbacks for Pool of the Dead, whose starter in Baker Mayfield leads the league in turnovers and has been a liability.

4.) Bruce Almightys

Overall Record: 3-2
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 367.7
Position Last Week: 10
Notes: The biggest riser in the power rankings this week, Bruce was the only winning team from the FFC South and catapulted himself to first place in the division.

5.) SLAM BALL 2K19

Overall Record: 3-2
Divisional Record: 3-1
Total Points Scored: 451
Position Last Week: 5
Notes: Fifth place five weeks in a row!

6.) Ernie’s Rubber Duckies

Overall Record: 3-2
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 418.2
Position Last Week: 7
Notes: With the division teetering in the balance, the Rubber Duckies look to throw their hat in the ring. Todd Gurley got back on track with two rushing touchdowns this week.

7.) Phillipines Garbage Dumps

Overall Record: 3-2
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 401.9
Position Last Week: 8
Notes: It was a breakout game for Aaron Jones who did it on the ground and through the air and is establishing himself as a dominant RB1 in this offensive scheme.

8.) Elk Grove Spartans

Overall Record: 3-2
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 379.3
Position Last Week: 11
Notes: Chark Week is here (it’s been going on for five weeks actually) as DJ Chark has been one of the most consistent wide receivers this year and has five touchdowns through the first five weeks.

9.) Team Banana Boat

Overall Record: 2-3
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 470.1
Position Last Week: 6
Notes: Frustrating loss for the Banana Boat who are now the second highest scoring team in the league but happened to play against the highest scorer this week. Christian McCaffrey is showing me levels I didn’t know he had and it’s quite amazing. He has to be in the fantasy MVP conversation as a frontrunner.

10.) Dr. Jenious

Overall Record: 2-3
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 441.4
Position Last Week: 4
Notes: Despite being the highest scoring team of the FFC South by a considerable margin (~73 points), the doctor finds himself in tenth place. Russell Wilson looks like a steal at quarterback this year and a legitimate NFL MVP candidate.

11.) Da Moon’s Huge Craters

Overall Record: 2-3
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 367.2
Position Last Week: 9
Notes: Michael Thomas’ monster game unfortunately fell a little short of getting the victory this season. As this team tries to separate itself from the rest of the division, the next move may be to acquire a reliable running back.

12.) Uur UPS

Overall Record: 2-3
Divisional Record: 2-2
Total Points Scored: 343.8
Position Last Week: 12
Notes: It was a promising start for the UPS but they ultimately fell a little short and were no able to seize the division. Their running game looks incredibly strong and Chris Carson continues to look dominant.

13.) 1st Year Kitties

Overall Record: 2-3
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 467.2
Position Last Week: 13
Notes: What a week for the Kitties who take down their storied rivals. They are being bottle necked in the standings by their divisional record, but are third in the league in scoring points.

14.) Korriban Warriors

Overall Record: 2-3
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 399.1
Position Last Week: 14
Notes: Two in a row for the Warriors who looked dead in the water after the first three weeks. It will be an uphill battle after starting 1-3 in the division, but the FFC North is up for grabs to anybody who wants it right now.

15.) Lin Sanity

Overall Record: 1-4
Divisional Record: 1-3
Total Points Scored: 372.6
Position Last Week: 15
Notes: Another disappointing letdown by Odell Beckham has this team in a spot nobody imagined after five weeks.

16.) The People’s Goat

Overall Record: 0-5
Divisional Record: 0-4
Total Points Scored: 380.6
Position Last Week: 16
Notes: This team needed a little Minshew magic but were not able to get their first victory of the season yet. Chris Godwin continues to be the most impressive player on the team.
