Week 3 Power Rankings (2019-09-24)

1.) Mahomies Deezflated Nuts

Overall Record: 3-0
Divisional Record: 3-0
Total Points Scored: 301.6
Position Last Week: 2
Notes: The defending champion took sole possession of the FFC East and looks to be the early favorite for a repeat season. Lesean McCoy looks like the best running back in Kansas City to own with his dominance in the ground game and through the air.

2.) Pool of the Dead

Overall Record: 3-0
Divisional Record: 3-0
Total Points Scored: 215.2
Position Last Week: 3
Notes: The second and last unbeaten team in the league, the Pool of the Dead start the season exactly the way they ended it in 2018: in control of the FFC North. However, they may have sustained the biggest injury in all of fantasy football this season: it was reported that a high ankle sprain could keep Saquon Barkley sidelined anywhere from 4-8 weeks.

3.) Dr. Jenious

Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 304.7
Position Last Week: 4
Notes: After three weeks, the highest scoring team in the league is Dr. Jenious. Back to back monster weeks from Russell Wilson including his 45-point performance in Week 3 have shot this team out of a rocket to the forefront of the FFC South. This team will have a big game against Bruce Almightys in Week 4 to avenge their Week 1 loss.

4.) Sacramento Wolfpack

Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 300.7
Position Last Week: 1
Notes: The Wolfpack are the third and final team to average over 100 points a week but got overmatched this week in a critical divisional game. With Dalvin Cook running wild and Tom Brady defying father time, this team looks to be like a powerhouse and early playoff contender.

5.) SLAM BALL 2K19

Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 298.2
Position Last Week: 5
Notes: The John Ross magical carpet ride is over after a classic negative point performance from the #1 WR entering Week 3.

6.) Team Banana Boat

Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 282.2
Position Last Week: 8
Notes: The Banana Boat completely flip the script of their Week 2 performance and look like the dominant team they were in Week 1 once again. Christian McCaffrey and Mark Ingram were two of the best running back performances of Week 3 as they combined for an incredible 56.3 fantasy points and four rushing touchdowns.

7.) Elk Grove Spartans

Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 227.7
Position Last Week: 12
Notes: Coming into the week as the biggest underdogs, the Spartans got a huge statement win on the backs of Philip Lindsay and Alvin Kamara who combined for 53.1 fantasy points doing it both on the ground and through the air. With this division up for grabs between three different 2-1 teams, the Spartans are just on the outside of a playoff seed with lots of time left in the regular season.

8.) Phillipines Garbage Dumps

Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 219.1
Position Last Week: 11
Notes: After being left for dead in Week 1, the Garbage Dumps have very quietly climbed up to the #8 spot in the rankings this week after another impressive game from Aaron Jones who finds himself at RB10 in the season long rankings. I love how Mike Evans finally showed up for one game and put up three weeks’ worth of stats in one game: 8 catches for 190 yards and three touchdowns on 15 targets.

9.) Da Moon’s Huge Craters

Overall Record: 2-1
Divisional Record: 2-1
Total Points Scored: 216
Position Last Week: 10
Notes: The Craters have been one of the most difficult teams to gauge this season because of the inconsistent QB gameplay of Aaron Rodgers. When you look at the scores, Rodgers is 3-0 on the standings but only averaging 15 fantasy points a game. Is this the new look Packers or are they do for a resurgence which will launch the Craters up the power rankings this season?

10.) 1st Year Kitties

Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 263.9
Position Last Week: 13
Notes: The Kitties finally get one in the W column after two frustrating weeks and another Monday night close call. The Bears defense came through with a big 5 takeaway performance including a defensive touchdown. The biggest dilemma on this team is which quarterback is more impressive and which one will get the start? Maybe it’s a good problem to have as both QBs are ranked in the top 6 so far this season.

11.) Ernie’s Rubber Duckies

Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 250.9
Position Last Week: 6
Notes: It was not a great outing for the receivers of this team as Calvin Ridley, Jared Cook and Danny Amendola combined for 5 fantasy points. The saving graces of this past week were Matt Ryan who continues to be the king of garbage time fantasy points and a resurgence by Greg Olsen who has shown some great chemistry with new QB Kyle Allen.

12.) Uur UPS

Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 190.8
Position Last Week: 9
Notes: It was an all-around forgettable game for the UPS as they witnessed second round pick Chris Carson lose his third fumble of the season in this young season. Nick Chubb, Brandin Cooks and Darren Waller remain the bright spots and most consistent source of points going forward.

13.) Bruce Almightys

Overall Record: 1-2
Divisional Record: 1-2
Total Points Scored: 232.1
Position Last Week: 7
Notes: It wasn’t that bad of a game for Bruce, just nobody really showed out or scored over 10 fantasy points besides Philip Rivers. There was a Devonta Freeman sighting which was an encouraging sign after two slow weeks to the season.

14.) Lin Sanity

Overall Record: 0-3
Divisional Record: 0-3
Total Points Scored: 226.7
Position Last Week: 14
Notes: The first of the 0-3 teams, Lin Sanity has had a very frustrating start to the 2019 season after being in the Superbowl game last year. Rookie QB Kyler Murray has shown flashes of being a great arm talent at times but has shown with his gunslinger mentality, there have come a few interceptions.

15.) The People’s Goat

Overall Record: 0-3
Divisional Record: 0-3
Total Points Scored: 220.5
Position Last Week: 16
Notes: The People’s Goat jokingly made the claim he was on the way to a record first winless season. I think this team has too much talent to achieve that feat, and have just not been able to put it all together for their first victory of the season. This week they got the #1 seed Mahomies Deezflated Nuts and what better time to play spoiler.

16.) Korriban Warriors

Overall Record: 0-3
Divisional Record: 0-3
Total Points Scored: 210.5
Position Last Week: 15
Notes: This has been the worst start in franchise history for the Warriors who are a perennial playoff team. However, I believe this team is trending in the right direction. With two trades last week, the Warriors have a completely new look and fell a few points short of beating the undefeated Pool of the Dead.
